Mount Everest is 29029 feet tall. Your average stair height is between 5 and 8 inches. In my building, I’d have to climb 4 flights of stairs 479 times to make the equivalent of climbing Everest.
Calculations:
Height x inches in a foot: 29029 x 12 = 348348 inches
Inches rise/step = 7 inches (yes, I measured it in my building)
Number of steps to get to the top of Mt. Everest climbing 7 inch stairs = 49764
Number of stairs/story = 26
Number of flights of stairs in my building to make the equivalent of Mt. Everest = 1914.
Number of flights from top to bottom = 4
479 trips from the bottom to the top of my building to climb Mt. Everest. I can do that. I did two so far today… 477 left to go.
Anyone else want to climb Mt. Everest at their building? I have no idea how much flab I can discard in the climb, but I’m going to find out…
